Miller didn’t elaborate on what he meant by “post-apocalyptic” (or at least the source doesn’t) although if I may speculate, perhaps he’s referring to the darker nature of the costumes we’ve seen so far. Batman’s suit is inspired by the suit he wore in The Dark Knight Returns, Superman and Wonder Woman’s costumes have darker color schemes compared to their comic book counterparts, and Aquaman has tossed aside the orange and green duds in favor of armor plates and tattoos (though it is reminiscent of his look from the 1990s). While there almost certainly be basic elements retained for the cinematic Flash costume (like the lightning bolt insignia), perhaps it will follow in the footsteps of the other costumes and have a “grittier” feel, such as being shaded with darker hue of red. One of DC’s more recent “post-apocalyptic” tales was the video game Injustice: Gods Among Us, so perhaps we can look at his suit in that story (as seen below) to get a sense of what the movie look will be.

As for the supposed drop-by in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, that doesn’t come entirely as a surprise – if true. There have been multiple reports of a scene in the film showing security footage of a robbery that was stopped by a “blur.” However, there was no indication that this scene would actually require Ezra Miller being present. If Flash does show up in the 2016 blockbuster, that would make him one of six DC heroes set to appear, following the two eponymous protagonists, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Cyborg.
With his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice appearance still unconfirmed, for now moviegoers should expect Miller’s Flash to debut in Justice League: Part One on November 17, 2017, followed by his solo film on March 23, 2018.
